Finally, a privacy statement that can be understood!

NCPS will never sell, give or otherwise distribute any information about any of its members or web site visitors, for any reason without explicit permission from you.

Privacy

NC&StL Preservation Society, Inc. (NCPS) respects the privacy of it's members as well as those users who visit the website. The following policies are in effect for all members of NCPS and those pages of the Web owned and operated by NCPS and are in place to demonstrate our firm commitment to your privacy.

Members Directory

When you submit an application for membership, you have the option of being listed in our members directory.  This listing is never shared outside of NCPS Members.

Our Commitment to Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information and membership practices, and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used. To make this notice easy to find, we make it available on our homepage and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

The Information We Collect:

This notice applies to all information collected or submitted on the NC&StL Preservation Society, Inc. website, application for membership or email correspondence. On some pages, you can apply for membership, make requests, and register to receive materials. The types of personal information collected at these pages are:

Name
Address
Email address
Phone number

The Way We Use Information:

We use the information you provide about yourself when applying for membership or placing an order only to complete that order. We do not share this information with outside parties except to the extent necessary to complete that order (your name and address on the shipping carton). This information is required as a necessary part of completing your membership and will not be sold or provided to any third parties.

Under no circumstances will a list of members be distributed to any outside organization for any reason(s). If approached by a group wanting to send brochures to NCPS members, we will ask them to send brochures to NCPS and we will distribute them accordingly. In these cases, NCPS may charge a fee to cover handling and postage.

In the event a membership directory is published, copies will be strictly controlled and available for members only. Prior to publication, members will need to approve their inclusion in such directory. If a signed statement (or email) is not received, your listing will not be included.

We use return email addresses to answer the email we receive. Such addresses are not used for any other purpose and are not shared with outside parties.

No Spam

NCPS maintains a strict "no-spam" policy. Your e-mail address or mailing address will never be sold or rented to a third party.

If you sign up for an e-mail newsletter, or other notices from the NCPS site, you may receive occasional follow up e-mails from NCPS to inform you of news, updated materials or product promotions.

Opt-Out/Opt-In

If at anytime you wish to be removed from our e-newsletter, or customer list you may request to be removed by e-mailing maryann@ncst.com with a subject line of "remove". Removals are usually done within 24 hours.

Finally, we will never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones described above without also providing you an opportunity to give specific permission for such unrelated uses.

Change/Modify

If at anytime you wish to review, change or update any personal information provided to us, simply e-mail maryann@ncst.com. To better protect the security and integrity of your information, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections to your information.

Our Commitment to Children's Privacy:

Protecting the privacy of the very young is especially important. For that reason, we never collect or maintain information at our website from those we actually know are under 13.

We do not actively market to anyone under 13, however the contect of this web site will always be appropriate for all ages.

Testimonials

The Testimonials that appear on the NCPS web sites have all given permission to be included. Information that is presented to us will not be posted unless permission is granted.

IP address

When a visitor requests pages at any NCPS site, our Web servers automatically recognize the browser's domain name and IP address as most Web sites do. This information is collected for statistical and diagnostic purposes only.

How you can access or correct Your Information

You can correct factual errors in your personally identifiable information by sending us a request that credibly shows error.

To protect your privacy and security, we will also take reasonable steps to verify your identity before granting access or making corrections.
