NC&StL 100 finds a new home... » Work in Progress: August 17-25

August 17 through 25 turned out to be a very long work-week, as Tom Knowles spent his "vacation" helping out at the Cowan Railroad Museum.  Saturday, August 18: Tom Knowles & Mark Ledbetter start sanding the engine while David Ellenburg and his grandson Zack work in the cab. The Franklin Country Jail provided workers to help with the sanding and grinding. Unfortunately, the three digit heat wave made for really hard labor!!! Tom and Mark continue sanding and then start painting, some nights til well after sunset. By Saturday, August 25, all the yellow paint has been applied. While we didn't get quite as far as he wanted, there was great satisfaction in a job well done, and Tom returned home exhausted but content.
